At an accident in Rehden, in the Diepholz district, a car was torn into two parts and the driver was thrown out of the vehicle. The 54-year-old man died at the scene in the morning, as the police reported.
A witness reportedly observed how the man was driving his car on the rainy road at high speed. Subsequently, according to the statement, he lost control of his vehicle on a straight section of the road and veered right off it. The car then struck a tree and collided with another one.
A paramedic could only confirm the death of the driver according to the police. The cleanup work required the road to be closed temporarily.
