In September, a Rhineland-Palatinate state branch of the Left Party Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) is planned to be founded. A founding party congress is scheduled for September 22 in Kaiserslautern, as announced by Bundestag deputy Alexander Ulrich, who is also a member of the BSW federal executive board.

During this event, a state constitution is to be adopted and the first state executive committee is to be elected. The executive committee is to be headed by two equally empowered state chairpersons.

Approximately 50 members are reportedly in Rheinland-Palatinate. On a federal level, the BSW formed as a party at the beginning of this year, and state branches have since emerged in Saarland, Berlin, Thuringia, Saxony, and Brandenburg. A state branch is also to be established in Lower Saxony in September.

According to Ulrich, there are currently around 50 members in Rheinland-Palatinate, including Landtag deputy Andreas Hartenfels. Additionally, around 1,500 people from the state have registered as supporters on the federal party's website.

In the simultaneous communal elections, the alliance contested in four districts and one city-state and received 1.2% of the votes. In the Kreis Kaiserslautern, approximately 7.4% of the votes were won, and 7.0% were achieved in the Bezirkstag Pfalz elections.
