On the Green Hill - The Bayreuth Festspiele continue with "Tannhauser"
On the Green Hill of Bayreuth, the Bayreuth Festspiele continue today (4:00 PM). After the premiere of a new production of "Tristan and Isolde", the long-celebrated, colorful "Tannhauser" by director Tobias Kratzer is now on the program.
Klaus Florian Vogt will sing Tannhauser, Elisabeth Teige will sing Elisabeth, and Irene Roberts will sing Venus. At the podium stands Conductor Nathalie Stutzmann.
The production is particularly noteworthy because it does not only take place in the Festspielhaus. During the intermission in the Festspielpark, there is also a small concert by the travesty artist Le Gateau Chocolat, who plays one of Tannhauser's friends in Kratzer's production.
The upcoming "New production" of Wagner's "Tannhäuser" is a highlights of this year's Bayreuth Festival, taking place in the historic city of Bayreuth, Bavaria. Visitors to the Festspielhaus can expect an exceptional performance of "Tannhäuter" directed by Tobias Kratzer, featuring Klaus Florian Vogt in the title role. Moreover, the Bayreuth Festival audience will enjoy a unique intermission activity with a small concert by the renowned travesty artist Le Gateau Chocolat in the Festspielpark.
