Attack on Berlin Palace - Teenagers want to steal the rainbow flag and fight

Two days before the Berlin Christopher Street Day (CSD), two men, who had a Rainbow Flag, were attacked and lightly injured by several teenagers. The men, aged 30 and 45, were sitting on the parapet of the Humboldt Promenade at Berlin Castle, as the police reported. The 30-year-old was holding the flag.

Five teenagers are said to have suddenly stormed towards the Men. Two of them attempted to steal the flag from the 30-year-old. However, they failed, and the alleged robbers then attacked him. The other three teenagers attacked the other man, pushing him to the ground and stamping on him.

According to Police, the perpetrators fled before the arrival of the officers. The 30-year-old was injured in the face and treated ambulantly at the scene. The 45-year-old was taken to a clinic, where he was also treated ambulantly. Since a political motivations cannot be ruled out, the state protection for politically motivated crimes is investigating.

Half a million people are expected at CSD

Hundreds of thousands are expected to march for the rights of the queer community through the city on Saturday. The organizers of the 46th CSD expect up to half a million people to march through Berlin under the motto "Together we are strong - For Democracy and Diversity".

The CSD in Berlin is considered one of the largest events for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, and queer community in Europe.

The attack against the two men with the Rainbow Flag at the Berlin Palace is a concerning incident of Criminality, highlighting the presence of Extremism in society. The police are investigating the incident as potential politically motivated crimes. Despite this incident, the city of Berlin is still preparing for the Berlin Christopher Street Day, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, with half a million people expected to participate. The Men from all walks of life are expected to march through Berlin under the motto "Together we are strong - For Democracy and Diversity," carrying the Rainbow flag as a symbol of unity and pride.
