Attack on Humboldt Forum - Teenagers want to steal Rainbow Flag and fight
Two days before the Berlin Christopher Street Day (CSD), two men, who had a Rainbow Flag, were attacked and lightly injured by several youths at the Humboldt Forum. The men, aged 30 and 45, were sitting on the parapet of the Humboldt Promenade at Berlin City Palace on a Thursday evening, as the police reported. The 30-year-old was holding the flag.
Five youths are said to have suddenly rushed towards the Men. Two of them attempted to steal the flag from the 30-year-old. However, they failed, and the alleged thieves then attacked him. The other three youths attacked the other man, pushing him to the ground and stamping on him there.
According to the Police, the perpetrators fled before the arrival of the officers. The 30-year-old was injured in the face and treated ambulantly at the scene. The 45-year-old was taken to a clinic and also received ambulant treatment. Since a political motivation cannot be ruled out, the state protection for politically motivated crimes is investigating.
