Basketball-Bundeslica - Syntainics MBC hires Routinier Johnson to Weissenfels
Weißenfels (dpa) - The roster of Basketball Bundesliga team Syntainics MBC for the upcoming season is nearly complete. The Weissenfels team has signed Tyren Johnson for the Power-Forward position. The 36-year-old comes from French championship leader Sluc Nancy for a season to the Wolves, the club announced. The last free spot in the MBC squad should be filled by an offensively strong Shooting Guard.
Head coach Janis Gailitis sees in Johnson a "passionate and experienced winner type", who will significantly contribute to the team mentality. With his enthusiasm, experience, and versatility, he will strengthen the team on both ends of the court.
The 2.02 meter tall new signing will make his Bundesliga debut in the home game against Rostock on either the 20th or 21st of September. The last seven seasons, he played in France, the first six of which were in Blois.
