State security investigates - Stone throws on town hall, police station and party office

After windows at the town hall, police station, and Green Party office in Altenberge, Münsterland, were broken with stones, the State Protection is investigating. A connection between the acts and a political background cannot be excluded at this point, the police stated regarding the acts of Tuesday evening. Witnesses had discovered several youths in the vicinity of the affected and nearby buildings, who had been acting suspiciously.

Witnesses heard a loud bang at the town hall around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday and then noticed that the entrance door had been violently damaged. Prior to this, several youths had been observed in the vicinity. Two of them were wearing warning vests and two had masks on.

Unknown individuals also threw stones at the window front of the Green Party office and the entrance door of the police station in Altenberge.

The State Protection agency has expressed concern over the escalating criminality in North Rhine-Westphalia, with incidents of stone throwing leading to damaged buildings in Münsterland, such as the town hall and the Green Party office in Altenberge. The police are urging vigilance and are actively seeking the identities of the youths who were spotted acting suspiciously near the affected buildings on Tuesday evening.
