After visiting a brothel in the German-Austrian border area, two young men are suspected to have stolen a Taxi and caused an accident on the Bundesstraße 305 near Ramsau (Berchtesgadener Land, Germany). According to the police, the two intoxicated men had ordered the taxi to take them to the brothel in Salzburg. When the driver went to the trunk to get a bottle of water, the passenger climbed into the driver's seat and drove away.

At the scene of the accident, the two suspects reportedly crashed the car into a guardrail. The taxi driver's phone automatically dialed emergency services from within the vehicle, a police spokesperson said. The police found the men near the accident site. One of them had hidden himself lightly injured on a nearby property, while the other was at a bus stop.

A breath alcohol test reportedly showed approximately 2 ppm for both men. A blood draw was then ordered. The police added that the men's actions were evident from the Dash-Cam recordings - a small camera that records traffic events.

The police estimated the damage to the taxi at around 10,000 Euro. The German authorities are investigating for endangering road traffic and hit-and-run, while the Austrian authorities are investigating for taxi theft.
