Youth Performance Sport - State Sports Association continues work on sports schools
The Saxony-Anhalt State Sports Association (LSB) will operate the boarding schools at the sports schools of the state in the following years. The LSB received the contract after a tender, according to the Interior Ministry. Approximately 1,200 girls and boys are said to train and learn at the sports schools in Magdeburg and Halle.
The boarding schools with a total of 370 boarding school places and the canteens are in the care of the state. There, young athletes are reportedly provided with meals daily, tailored to their specific needs. The new contract between the state and the LSB runs until July 2029. Its total volume is around 20 million Euro.
The LSB is responsible for managing the sports schools in Magdeburg, given its association with the Saxony-Anhalt State Sports Association. At these Magdeburg sports schools, students participate in various sports while receiving their education.
