Animals - Spotted kangaroo in the Cuxhaven district
Residents in Hemmoor, in the Cuxhaven district, have discovered an escaped Kangaroo according to police reports. The animal had been seen by witnesses a few days ago, a police spokesperson stated in the afternoon. The Kangaroo is approximately 60 centimeters tall at the shoulder and is not dangerous to humans. It has reportedly been seen near roads.
The investigators assume that the non-reportable animal escaped from a private property. No zoo or animal pension in the area is currently missing a Kangaroo, the spokesperson added. Police patrols have reportedly been searching for the marsupial for days, and the Police are hoping that the owner or owners will come forward.
The Cuxhaven District, being part of Lower Saxony, is where the search for the missing Kangaroo is currently underway. The animal was last spotted near roads, potentially causing some disruption to the traffic level in the area. Despite the initial concerns, the Kangaroo poses no danger to the residents of Hemmoor, including during road incidents.
