Some snow and lots of rain in the coming days
The weather in Germany will remain uncomfortable in the coming days. This Sunday, it will be cloudy in the north and northeast, with the possibility of showers on the coasts, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) on Saturday.
It will be increasingly cloudy in the south and southwest, with rain later in the extreme southwest, and snow may initially fall at higher altitudes above 800 meters. Highs are expected to be between 5 and 11 degrees, in the mountains around 3 degrees. According to the forecast, it will be rainy in the center and west on Monday night, with the snow line also rising in the Alps.
On Monday and Tuesday, the weather will mostly show its uncomfortable side. "The start of the week will then literally fall through", said DWD meteorologist Nico Bauer. Apart from the extreme north-east of Germany, rain will fall again and again on Monday. The rainfall will be heavy in the low mountain ranges. "At least the rain will be warmer in the southwest," explained Bauer. Temperatures there will rise to a mild 10 to 16 degrees, which will mean that "even in the highest elevations of the low mountain ranges, snowmen will melt quickly". Towards the north-east, however, the colder air will persist.
According to the DWD, the November gray will continue to dominate in the middle of the week. Rain falls again and again. Large amounts of rain will fall, especially in the south. The sun will only rarely make an appearance.
The weather predictions suggest further unpleasant conditions in the coming days, with rain and potential snow in various regions. As per the German Weather Service's forecast, rainfall is expected in the center and west on Monday night, and snow may even start at higher altitudes in the Alps.
