Corona vaccinations - So far, four recognized Corona-vaccine side effects in Saxony-Anhalt

In Saxony-Anhalt, a total of four cases of health damages following Corona vaccinations have been recognized so far. A spokeswoman of the Landesverwaltungsamt stated that no new recognized health damages occurred last year. In total, there were 365 applications for recognition of health damages. There were also further applications in the previous year.

Of the four recognized cases, three were temporary and one was permanent health conditions. A week ago, the Magdeburg Regional Court dismissed the lawsuit of a 59-year-old man from the Salzlandkreis who sued a vaccine manufacturer due to a heart attack.

Connection between vaccination and illness often not discernible

According to the Federal Health Ministry, more than 1.6 million people in Saxony-Anhalt have been vaccinated against Corona. In the case of recognition of a health damage following vaccination, there is financial support. Up to a duration of six months, one assumes a transient condition, thereafter a permanent one.

Among the reported health damages in the applications were fatigue, headaches and joint pains, visual disturbances, concentration and sensory impairments, myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle), pulmonary embolism, and stroke. However, it was often not possible to establish a causal connection between the reported health damage and the Corona vaccination.

  1. Despite the recognition of four health damage cases in Saxony-Anhalt due to Coronavirus vaccinations, the Administration in Magdeburg's Salzland District recently dismissed a lawsuit brought by a man who claimed vaccine damage caused his heart attack.
  2. The Landesverwaltungsamt in Saxony-Anhalt reported no new recognized health damage cases following Coronavirus vaccinations in 2021, adding to the total of 365 applications for recognition since earlier years.
  3. In the process of recognizing health damage following Coronavirus vaccinations, temporary conditions are assumed for up to six months, and permanent conditions are assumed thereafter, according to the Federal Health Ministry in Saxony-Anhalt.
  4. The administration in Magdeburg's Salzland District has managed numerous applications for health damage recognition following Coronavirus vaccinations, including symptoms like fatigue, headaches, joint pain, visual disturbances, and myocarditis, among others, but often, establishing a direct causal connection between these health issues and the vaccination is challenging.
