The Eras Tour - Snacks and Wristbands: Fans ready for Taylor-Swift-Concert
Before the first concert of Taylor Swift in Germany, numerous fans are eagerly waiting in Gelsenkirchen for the US superstar. At the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, many young women were already seated and standing for hours beforehand - but not all "Swifties" are young and female. For example, Gerrit Kludt and Denis Göhl from Hattingen also want to be as close as possible to the stage in the evening.
"Even if that's very unusual, as they say," Kludt remarked: "Two guys in their mid-thirties who, according to classic categories, are not necessarily the target audience."
To dress for the concert, the two friends also gave some thought. Since they want to forego glitter, they both wear Travis Kelce's jersey. The football player for the Kansas City Chiefs has been in a relationship with Swift since last year.
Some fans are waiting for a good view for hours
A few friendship bracelets to exchange with other "Swifties" they also brought along. In the first row, they didn't necessarily have to be there at all costs, Göhl and Kludt said. Their size helps: To have a good view, they don't have to worry too much. In the morning, they both made their way to Gelsenkirchen.
Some fans have been present since early morning. A few hundred fans had already gathered in the waiting area by the early morning. "We've been here since 4:30 am," said Emily, the 18-year-old, who had also brought snacks and card games to pass the time.
Approximately 200,000 fans are expected in Gelsenkirchen for the three Swift concerts on July 17, 18, and 19. Further shows in Germany are scheduled in Hamburg and Munich afterwards.
