Shoulder injury: Simons will only miss Leipzig for a short time
Top talent Xavi Simons will only miss Bundesliga club RB Leipzig for a short time. The Dutch international suffered "no major structural injury" when he fell on his right shoulder against Manchester City (2:3) on Tuesday. This was announced by the club on Thursday following an MRI examination.
It remains to be seen how long the 20-year-old will miss. Simons will most likely not be available for the league match against 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday (3.30 pm/Sky). However, if his recovery progresses well, Simons could return to action next week in the top match at Borussia Dortmund.
Despite the shoulder injury, Simons is expected to return to Bundesliga action soon with RB Leipzig. His probable return could occur during the top match against Borussia Dortmund.
