In Thuringia, near a hiking trail in Schlagethal, several hectares of forest and meadow burned. The area between Meura and Reichmannsdorf caught fire on Tuesday afternoon for unknown causes, as the police reported.
The fire department extinguished the fire by late evening and the rekindling embers on Wednesday morning. The damage is estimated to be around 20,000 Euros. Further investigations have been initiated, and the police cannot exclude the suspicion of negligent arson.
The hiking trail in Schlagethal, located in Thuringia, may have served as a route for hikers to witness the intense fire that erupted in the nearby forest and meadow. Authorities are currently investigating the possibility of negligent arson as the cause of the Brand, which originated between Meura and Reichmannsdorf.
