Several areas in Germany experience internet connectivity issues.
Yesterday, some people in Germany couldn't access the internet at all. Many customers of Telekom and O2 dealt with internet outages and issues. This affected 1&1 and Postbank as well. According to Telekom, they've been working hard to fix the problem.
Various internet providers in Germany faced temporary technical disruptions on Tuesday morning. Based on users' reports on the Allestörungen.de platform, the services of Telekom, O2, 1&1, and Postbank were impacted.
Domestic internet and streaming were particularly affected for Telekom and O2 users. It's likely that 1&1 customers also experienced similar internet issues. Postbank users reported problems with both online and mobile login, as well as online banking. There were apparently issues in cities, too.
A Telefónica (O2) spokesperson explained that the reason was a fault at Telekom. "Due to a disruption at our upstream technical service provider Deutsche Telekom, whose infrastructure we use in part for our fixed network products (fiber optics, VDSL), some O2 fixed network customers may currently also experience restrictions," they said. However, their mobile network services remained unaffected.
After an hour or so, most of the issues indicated on the fault reports started to ease. The Allestörung.de website noted a significant decrease in damage reports for O2 and 1&1. However, it seemed like disruptions for Postbank and Telekom were still underway, according to the website. Telekom stated on the X platform that their Magenta TV Internet television service and internet telephony were partially disrupted. They're doing everything they can to get things back to normal.

Further investigations revealed that the Internet connectivity issues affected several major Internet companies in Germany, including German Telekom and Telefónica Germany (O2). Many users reported difficulties accessing Mobile Internet services due to these disruptions.
Despite Telefónica Germany (O2) confirming a fault at their upstream technical service provider, Deutsche Telekom, their mobile network services remained intact, creating a stark contrast in the situation.
