After an unsuccessful theft from an ATM in Brandenburg an der Havel, the police have lifted the security perimeter around the bank. Special investigators from the State Criminal Police Office discovered unknown, potentially dangerous substances at the ATM, according to the police. These have been removed and rendered harmless. The security perimeter was lifted at around 5:20 PM.

The police evacuated apartments and businesses, including a shopping center. They were called to the bank in the night. Unknown individuals had gained forcible entry into the bank's interior and attempted to open an ATM. The attempt failed and the perpetrators fled before the arrival of the police, as stated.

The police did not disclose how many people were affected by the cordons or what kind of dangerous substances were involved. Further investigations will be conducted by the LKA.

The theft at the ATM in Brandenburg an der Havel has resulted in a heightened level of criminality in the area. Despite the police lifting the restriction circle around the bank, authorities are urging residents and visitors to remain vigilant.
