Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Minister President Manuela Schwesig (SPD) embarks on her traditional Summer Tour. The range of appointments extends until August 8th. Starting with the partial reopening of the German Maritime Museum in Stralsund on this Wednesday, followed by a visit to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landpute GmbH, and culminating in the opening of the Hanse Sail on August 8, the last day of her journey.

A focus is on economy and exports. On July 25th, there is a visit scheduled to Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH in Waren, where she will open the export evening of the state government. "Our most important task is still to strengthen the economic power of the state, so that good jobs with fair wages are created and secured," said Schwesig.

Important are the opportunities of renewable energies. On July 22nd, an excursion to the Arcadis Ost I wind farm, which is expected to be connected to the grid by December 2023, is planned. The same day, the "AufWindDay" citizens' festival is scheduled at the National Park Center Königsstuhl on Rügen. "It is important to us that the citizens are involved in the expansion of renewable energies," said Schwesig about this.

At the beginning of the week, Federal Economic Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) handed over funding decisions in the three-digit million range for four projects for green hydrogen in MV in Berlin. Large amounts of electricity from renewable energies are required for production.

Agreements with Saxony

During her summer journey, Schwesig also intends to meet with heads of government of other federal states. In Ludwigslust, the 6th Ludwigsluster Talks on the development of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region are planned for this Wednesday, and Hamburg's Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) will also participate.

On August 1st, Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) comes to MV. In Rostock, they plan to sign an intentional declaration on the establishment of an Institute for High Energy Density Physics between the University of Rostock and the Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf. An agreement is also to be concluded in the tourism sector.
