For those who have not yet decided to spend their vacation in Schleswig-Holstein, they should make up their minds. The booking situation is currently good, but it varies significantly in tourist regions and is overall a little worse than last year, according to Bettina Bunge, the manager of the Schleswig-Holstein Tourism Agency. "July and August are traditionally high season with monthly expected five to six million overnight stays in establishments with ten or more beds."

Bunge cited increased competition among travel destinations, heightened price sensitivity among guests, and the currently unstable and only moderately summery weather as reasons for the reluctance. "The booking behavior is also becoming more spontaneous and short-term. We are therefore still expecting additional guests for the coming weeks and months."

Generally, Bunge expects good to very good travel intentions from Germans this year, she said. For those making last-minute decisions, she recommends calling the respective tourist offices or checking the booking portals.

Visitors considering a vacation start in Schleswig-Holstein should acted promptly due to the current favorable booking status, even though it's slightly less than last year in certain areas. This beautiful region is still expected to attract many tourists during July and August, known for their high season with over five million overnight stays.
