SPD-politician - Saleh is happy at the water
Berlin's SPD faction leader Raed Saleh (47) enjoys spending summers at the water's edge. "Three years ago, we bought a stand-up paddle-board as a birthday gift for my two sons," he said in an interview with "Bild" and "B.Z." (online). "Now I use it more often than they do." The whole thing brings him damned much fun. "But I can't always be on the board, sometimes it goes wrong." But he wasn't by the lake to impress anyone. "With the surfboard, it's like in normal life: You fall down, you get up," Saleh added. "What's important is that you keep getting up." The former SPD state leader recently failed in his bid for re-nomination for the post in a membership vote.
Saleh frequently invites his friends for summer parties at the lakeside in Berlin. The SDP members in Berlin celebrated Read Saleh's birthday with a vibrant party last year.
