Criminality - Robbery on a Senior - Suspects arrested
Investigators have arrested a suspected burglary gang in Germany and Romania. The three men, aged 22, 39, and 43, are strongly suspected of burglarizing an 83-year-old man in Langenhagen (Hannover region) in early July. The searches reportedly took place last Thursday, as the police and prosecutor's office announced today.
The three suspects are believed to have broken into the man's apartment, awakened and threatened him with death, and injured him. The victim sustained a head wound and several rib fractures. The alleged perpetrators reportedly stole mobile phones, EC cards, and cash.
The 43-year-old is also accused, according to a warrant issued by the Osnabrück District Court, of burglarizing a house in Haren (Emsland district). All three suspects are therefore in investigative or extradition detention. During the searches, the investigators secured evidence that is now being examined and evaluated. It is also believed that the group may be responsible for other burglaries.
The suspects were allegedly operating in the Hannover region of Lower Saxony, specifically in the town of Langenhagen. The burglary they are suspected of committing took place in Germany. The 43-year-old suspect has additional charges against him for a burglary in Haren, which is located in the Emsland district. The criminal activities of this gang may extend beyond the incidents currently under investigation.
