Handball Bundesliga - Rhein-Neckar Lowen assure 'more quality' in squad

The Rhein-Neckar Löwen begin the new season in the Handball Bundesliga with great optimism. Coach Sebastian Hinze stated at a press conference at the training center in Kronau that he now has "more quality" in the squad due to the new signings. The Löwen have strengthened with German national players Tim Nothdurft (Bergischer HC) and Sebastian Heymann (Frisch Auf Göppingen) as well as the Croatian left back Ivan Martinovic (MT Melsungen). Heymann and Martinovic are missing in the first training weeks due to their participation in the Olympics in Paris.

The previous season ended disappointingly for the Mannheim team with the twelfth place, after which managing director Jennifer Kettemann had to leave. Great hopes now rest on club legend Uwe Gensheimer. The former world-class left winger will be built up by the Löwen after the end of his active career as a sporting director, but he has not yet named a specific season goal. It's about "establishing Rhineland Lion handball with tempo and quality in defense," Gensheimer said.

  1. Sebastian Heymann, who recently joined the Rhinne-Neckar Lions from Frisch Auf Göppingen, is currently missing training due to his participation in the Olympics in Paris.
  2. Baden-Württemberg's famous Handball team, the Rhein-Neckar Lions, will be led by Uwe Gensheimer in the upcoming Handball Bundesliga season as a sporting director, following his retirement as a player.
  3. The Handball Bundesliga team Rhinne-Neckar Lions, based in Mannheim, Germany, has strengthened their squad with the addition of German national players Tim Nothdurft and Sebastian Heymann, as well as Croatian left back Ivan Martinovic.
  4. Despite the departure of managing director Jennifer Kettemann following a disappointing 12th place finish in the previous season, the Rhinne-Neckar Lions are optimistic about the new Bundesliga campaign, aiming to establish their handball with pace and quality in defense.
