Farewell - Report: Japan's oldest person dies at the age of 116
The Japanese woman Fusa Tatsumi, who was considered the oldest person in the country, has died at the age of 116, according to media reports. The cause of death was old age, the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported on Tuesday, citing an official from the city of Kashiwara.
She had last lived in the city in Osaka Prefecture. Japanese newspapers also reported on her death.
Tatsumi was born in 1907. According to the reports, she was officially recognized as Japan's oldest person since April last year, after a 119-year-old Japanese woman had previously died in Fukuoka.
