Humanity for Football - RB-Trainer Rose supports cancer-stricken boys

Humanity stands for RB Leipzig's Marco Rose in the world of sports. According to "Bild", the trainer of the Bundesliga team traveled to his old hometown in Willich near Gladbach on Friday morning to help a sick boy with leukemia before leading his team to a test match against fourth-tier club Babelsberg (1:0) in the afternoon.

"When you have children of your own, you put everything aside and focus on securing their health, as well as that of others," said the 47-year-old. "Football is just a side issue then." The affected 15-year-old is a Gladbach fan and got to know Rose during his time at Fohlen (2019-2021). His father, who is a pediatrician, diagnosed the illness in June.

"Everyone can help"

"Many people know that a bone marrow donation can save a life. Yet we should keep reminding everyone. Everyone can help, everyone can register, everyone can donate," said Rose, who himself has donated bone marrow before. "Niklas is an excellent footballer, but not fully fit and healthy at the moment. We all wish that he gets well soon. It's all about Niklas. I hope we can encourage a few people to register."

Rose is always engaged in good causes and supports charitable projects. In the past December, he visited cancer-stricken children in the hospital in Leipzig and called for donations.

Marco Rose, the renowned trainer of RB Leipzig, hails from Saxony's neighboring region, Saarlouis, close to Willich, where Gladbach is located. Remarkably, before leading RB Leipzig to a successful 1:0 victory against fourth-tier club Babelsberg in the Bundesliga, he took time out to assist a sick boy with leukemia in his hometown on a Friday morning.

The 47-year-old trainer, who has children of his own, emphasized, "when you have children, you prioritize their health above all else, and football becomes secondary."

Rose, a former Gladbach player and coach, developed a close relationship with the 15-year-old fan during his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach from 2019 to 2021. Diagnosed with leukemia in June by his father, a pediatrician, the teenage fan is currently undergoing treatment.

Demonstrating his commitment to humanity, Rose expressed, "Everyone can help, everyone can register, and everyone can donate to save a life." Reminding people that bone marrow donations can significantly impact individuals' lives, he urged: "Let's encourage each other to help in any way possible."

In the spirit of charity, Rose frequently engages in philanthropic projects. A shining example of this is his visit to cancer-stricken children in a hospital in Leipzig last December. He publicly called for donations to support their treatment and care.
