Unweather - Rashes cause accidents on the wet A2 highway

On the rain-slicked highway of A2, there were two car accidents on Sunday evening. In both cases, aquaplaning occurred as the drivers were driving too fast, according to the police.

Near the exit Herzebrock-Clarholz, a 38-year-old driver was severely injured when his car collided with the median barrier. His 14-year-old passenger remained unharmed.

Shortly thereafter, there was another accident involving the car of a 26-year-old. The driver was lightly injured. In both accidents, there were minor traffic disruptions.

The accidents on the A2 highway in North Rhine-Westphalia's Gütersloh region were attributed by the authorities to the poor driving conditions caused by bad weather. Despite the precautionary measures, such as reducing speed and increasing distance between vehicles, many drivers still struggled to maintain control on the roadway due to the wet conditions. The series of car accidents on Sunday evening resulted in several injured individuals and minor traffic disruptions along the route.
