weather - Rain and thunder at the weekend start

The weekend start will be unpleasantly wet and gray: The German Weather Service (DWD) warns for Thuringia in the coming days of powerful thunderstorms, heavy rain up to 50 liters per square meter, and hail.

Friday starts predominantly dry and sunny, with temperatures up to 26 degrees. In the night from Friday to Saturday, then thunderstorms and heavy rain will occur, with rain lasting for several hours in parts. Short, stormy gusts are also not excluded, according to the DWD.

Saturday changes little. With similar maximum temperatures as the previous day, showers and light thunderstorms must still be reckoned with until evening. Temperatures at night drop to a maximum of 14 degrees, and in the night from Saturday to Sunday even to a maximum of 7 degrees.

Despite the promising start with dry and sunny conditions on Friday, the German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts a change in Erfurt's weather over the weekend. Heavy rain, reaching up to 50 liters per square meter, is expected alongside powerful thunderstorms and hail, posing a potential threat. This weather pattern, characterized by thunder, is expected to persist into Saturday, potentially affecting the entire weekend in Thuringia.
