Strife in Rock Subculture - Raids after brawls among rocker groups in Unterfranken

Approximately one week after a violent clash between Rocker gangs in Underfranken, the police searched five locations. Five men were temporarily arrested, but later released. The investigators seized laptops and phones during the raids in Großheubach (Landkreis Miltenberg), Marktbreit, Wiesenbronn (both Landkreis Kitzingen), and Großostheim (Landkreis Aschaffenburg). Knives, batons, and rings were also found. The president of a local group of the "Outlaws" lived at one of the searched locations, a police spokesperson said.

Incident at a Gas Station

About 40 Rockers from the potentially dangerous groups "Outlaws" and "Bandidos" clashed at a gas station in Marktheidenfeld (Landkreis Main-Spessart) on July 13th. At least five injured individuals were found at the scene. It is unclear if there were additional injuries as some of the perpetrators fled. The "Outlaws" have a clubhouse in the Marktheidenfeld area. It is unknown why they encountered their rivals at the gas station and the situation escalated.

A suspect was taken into custody for attempted murder and grievous bodily harm following the altercation. Eight other suspects, who were initially arrested, were later released. The investigations into the grievous bodily harm and dangerous assault charges continued.

Raids supported by Special Unit

The prosecutor's office requested the searches in apartments and houses due to new information, as stated. The police were supported by the Special Operations Command (USK) and the Rapid Deployment Police. The USK is a special unit that assists the police in operations with potential for violence.

Tensions had existed longer

According to the police, there had been disputes between Rockers prior to the altercation at the gas station. Two motorcycle riders had allegedly clashed in Urspringen (Landkreis Main-Spessart) in the late afternoon or early evening of the incident day. Additionally, there were indications of further confrontations between members of both motorcycle clubs in the Marktheidenfeld area.

  1. The brawl at the gas station in Marktheidenfeld sparked a series of raids in various districts of Bavaria, including the Aschaffenburg District and the Miltenberg District.
  2. The police used their findings from the seized phones and laptops to gather more information about the criminal activities of the Rocker groups, particularly the Outlaws.
  3. Upper Franconia also became involved in the raids, with searches conducted in several locations to uncover any links between the Rocker groups and local criminality.
  4. The men associated with the Rocker groups, including members of the Outlaws and the Bandidos, were under scrutiny due to the increased level of criminality associated with their groups.
  5. The gas station incident had put a spotlight on the potential danger posed by these groups, leading to a heightened sense of vigilance by law enforcement agencies.
  6. The Raids also targeted certain rocker groups in the District Kitzingen, Lower Franconia, to investigate any involvement in the escalating tensions and conflicts.
  7. The Rock-band scene in Main-Spessart district was also monitored for any potential connections to the Outlaws and Bandidos, as criminality and music often go hand in hand in certain subcultures.
  8. The police spokesperson also mentioned that the illegal possession of weapons such as knives and batons was a common issue among these outlaw motorcycle clubs.
  9. The Special Operations Command (USK) and Rapid Deployment Police proved to be valuable assets during the raids, given their expertise in handling situations with potential for violence.
