soccer - Racism suspicion in Bayernliga game - Criminal Police investigating

At a football game in the Bayernliga, Hofer fans allegedly made racist remarks towards a opposing player. According to the police, this occurred during the closing phase of the match between Spielvereinigung Bayern Hof and SC Eltersdorf in Hof on Saturday. Beforehand, there had been a scuffle on the sidelines.

The home team issued a written statement distancing itself "from any form of racist statements, insults or unsportsmanlike conduct." The incident was, however, "not noticed" by the Hofer fans themselves. SC Eltersdorf condemned the racist insults of the yet unknown fans in a statement "in the strongest terms": "Such behavior has neither lost its place on the sports field nor anywhere else in our society, and we hope that we will no longer have to experience such behavior in the future."

The "Nuremberg News" reported on the incident. Now, the Criminal Police are investigating.

In response to the incident, Munich's soccer team, known for its strong stance against discrimination, expressed their disapproval of the racist remarks made during the recent Bayernliga soccer game between Spielvereinigung Bayern Hof and SC Eltersdorf. Regrettably, this form of criminality was reported during an Upper Frankonia soccer match, tarnishing the excitement of the game.
