Burglarytheft - Process regarding theft and arson getaway cars
Five months after his flight and a dangerous manhunt, a suspected burglar will have to answer for his actions on Friday (9.30 am) at the Mönchengladbach District Court. A man from Niederkruchten near Mönchengladbach is accused. The 34-year-old is charged with numerous offenses, including burglary, driving without a license, assaulting police officers, reckless endangerment, hit-and-run, and arson. During a burglary in a single-family house, he is said to have stolen not only gold and silver jewelry but also the keys of a car and driven away. The accused does not have a driver's license.
After the police located the stolen car and attempted to stop it, the 34-year-old is said to have insulted the officers and rammed their vehicle. Subsequently, he is reported to have engaged in a pursuit with the police and driven through a town at over 100 km/h. After managing to shake off the police, he is said to have set fire to the getaway car on a country road. Ten days later, he was caught drunk and without a driver's license behind the wheel of another car. Three trial days are planned.
