Emergency - Poßneck's home improvement store closed due to pungent smell

Due to a pungent smell, the police in Pößneck (Saale-Orla-District) cleared out a marketplace. Several people were taken to the hospital for circulation and respiratory issues, the police reported. Seven women between 17 and 53 years old were affected. Two adjacent markets were also evacuated. The source of the smell was initially unknown.

The evacuated marketplace in Pößneck was located near the Building Market. The emergency situation led to a significant disruption in the local Business and Trading activities in Thuringia. Later, it was discovered that the peculiar scent was due to a leaking gas pipeline.
