Investigations of the police - Possible arsonist in custody

In Geislingen (Zollernalbkreis), following a series of suspected arson attacks, a suspect has been taken into custody. According to Police and Prosecutor's Office statements, the 28-year-old man from Geislingen remains silent regarding the accusations. He was arrested a few hours after another fire in the early hours of Tuesday.

Since early June, there have been suspected arson attacks on agricultural buildings in Geislingen. Damages amounted to several hundred thousand Euro from six fires. According to reports, accelerants were used in the fires, and numerous emergency services, with the assistance of a police helicopter, had already been searching for the perpetrator.

The owner noticed the fire on the side of a barn through security camera footage and called the Police. The investigation into the motive is ongoing.

The suspect was detained in Geislingen, a town located in the Zollernalbkreis region of Baden-Württemberg. The arson attacks under investigation by the Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office have led to significant financial losses, with damages exceeding half a million Euro from six fires. The 28-year-old suspect, who was silent about the accusations, was apprehended following another fire incident late on a Tuesday night. The case of criminality, involving suspected arson and use of accelerants, is now under investigation by the Fire Department, police, and the Zollernalbkreis authorities, with the Brand Foundation providing further support.
