Security forces - Police operation following a tip at the Frankenthal District Court

According to indications of a possible disruption of a hearing at the Landgericht Frankenthal, the police were in action in the Palatinate city. "We provided administrative and executive assistance to protect the hearing at the court", the Rheinpfalz Police Presidium in Ludwigshafen stated upon request. There had not been an acute threat situation. No arrests were made. The deployment was peacefully ended in the afternoon.

According to the Landgericht, the deployment concerned the so-called double murder trial. In this trial, a possible preventive detention for a defendant is being discussed. The man was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018, among other things, for murder and extortion with fatal consequences. The Landgericht Frankenthal considered it proven that the man, with Turkish citizenship, was involved in the deaths of two entrepreneurs with a accomplice and an accomplice.

The police operation in Frankenthal was supported by the Security forces to maintain order and ensure the safety of the District Court. The potential disturbance at the hearing was related to the high-profile double homicide trial. Negotiations were held between the Justice system and the defendant's legal team to avoid any escalation during the court proceedings. Despite the heightened security measures, the situation remained peaceful, and the trial continued in Rhineland-Palatinate.
