Criminality - Police investigating shootings at Leopold Square

A stranger is reported to have shot at a group of people at Leopoldplatz in Berlin-Wedding. According to initial investigations, the man is said to have approached the group near midnight at a church and fired two shots towards a 32-year-old.

He then fled with a car parked nearby, according to the police. During the getaway, the man is said to have fired again in the direction of the square. The 32-year-old was reportedly lightly injured in the leg. Alarmed rescue services took him to a hospital.

The background of the crime is unclear and the subject of investigation for dangerous bodily harm by the police. Leopoldplatz is known as a hotspot of Berlin's drug scene.

The incident at Leopoldplatz is being investigated by the police in Berlin-Wedding as a case of dangerous bodily harm. The same police force is also searching for the suspect, who is believed to have fled the scene in a car and engaged in further shootings near Leopold Square.
