Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Electro - Police: Festival Deichbrand allowed and peaceful
Before the conclusion of the Deichbrand Festival in Nordholz, Cuxhaven district, the police have drawn a positive interim balance. Around 60,000 people celebrated peacefully and carefree together daily, a police spokesperson stated. Since the start of the event on Thursday until Sunday morning, the police recorded approximately 90 offenses - among them were thefts and drug offenses. In general, the festival ran smoothly from a police perspective.
The program included over 120 national and international artists from the genres Hip-Hop, Electro, Pop, Rock, Alternative, Indie and Metal. Among them were the Hamburg rapper Nina Chuba, the band Tokio Hotel, rapper Cro, and the US-American rock band Kings of Leon. The IT failure that caused worldwide disruptions and nearly paralyzed air traffic on Friday led to last-minute program changes. Some artists therefore did not appear or arrived late to the Festival. The performance of the Austrian singer Verifiziert was cancelled.
The police urged music fans on the last festival day on Sunday to pay attention to the weather conditions. Showers and thunderstorms were forecasted for the afternoon. The music event ended as planned in the night to Sunday.
