At a control on a cruise ship in Kiel, the Police arrested a wanted suspect. The examination of the passenger lists of the ship "MSC Euribia" coming from Norway revealed that a fellow traveler was wanted by a prosecutor's office in Lower Saxony, as the police announced on Monday. The reason: The 36-year-old had failed to return to prison after a release.

The man was in custody for drunkenness in traffic and driving without a driver's license. According to police statements, the passenger was approached by officers during the control on Saturday and admitted immediately that he was the wanted person. After the completion of police measures, he was handed over to a detention center. There, he still has to serve the remaining part of his sentence of 15 days.

The suspect was originally wanted in Schleswig-Holstein, but the cruise ship "MSC Euribia" brought him to Kiel in Lower Saxony. Despite having a history of criminality, the passenger's name was not on the initial passenger list provided to the Norwegian authorities. However, a thorough examination of the updated passenger list revealed his presence on board. The police in Norway are now reviewing the case in light of this new development.
