Harz - Police arrest man for robbery at business

After a attempted robbery at a florist shop in Halberstadt, police have arrested a 33-year-old man. This man attempted to extort money from the shop on Friday afternoon, according to the police. He had a revolver and a knife with him.

The shop owner and an employee loudly called for help, causing the perpetrator to abandon his plan, it was reported. The shop owner allegedly sustained minor injuries when she tripped while chasing the perpetrator out of the shop. The man was reportedly apprehended without resistance by police officers. A judge at the Halberstadt Magistrates' Court ordered pre-trial detention. The man was taken to the Halle Penitentiary.

The incident at the florist shop in Halberstadt was classified as an attempted burglary due to the man's intentions. Despite the police's successful arrest of the suspect, the extent of criminality in Saxony-Anhalt remains a concern, leading to increased patrols in the area.
