Drug criminality - Police apprehend suspected drug dealer on the run

Police officers in Berlin-Schoeneberg arrested a suspected drug dealer. Before that, he tried to flee with his car and in the process disregarded a series of traffic regulations, as the Berlin Police reported.

According to reports, police officers in civilian clothing spotted a car in Schoeneberg's Potsdamer Straße corner Kurfürstenstraße that was driving at an excessive speed. The driver failed to signal when turning.

Traffic violations during the chase

When he parked the car, the police wanted to control him. But the 36-year-old man suddenly drove out of the parking space and disregarded all orders to stop. During the chase, he committed further traffic violations and nearly caused an accident with a cyclist, as it was stated.

In Monumentenstraße, he drove into a dead-end street, stopped the vehicle, and fled on foot. According to reports, he threw several mobile phones and supposed narcotics over a fence.

Cocaine in a test tube

The civil officers eventually apprehended the suspect and took him into custody. During the search of the man, his car, and the area around the fence, the civil officers secured 23 micro test tubes allegedly containing cocaine, as well as four mobile phones, cash, and a pocket knife.

The 36-year-old man claimed not to have a driver's license and to have consumed cocaine the day before. He was taken to the police station for blood draw and identification. Subsequently, he was reportedly handed over to a narcotics commission.

During the search of the suspect's apartment, the response team seized a firearm and substances, which initially appeared to be cocaine.

The man must answer for the prohibited car racing, endangering road traffic under the influence of narcotics, driving without a license, illegal narcotics trade, violations of the weapons law, and other traffic ordinance violations.

The suspect was accused of engaging in drug criminality, specifically dealing cocaine, based on the 23 micro test tubes allegedly containing the substance found during his arrest.

The high-speed chase through Berlin's streets and disregard for traffic regulations further highlighted the man's involvement in criminality related to drug traffic.

During the pursuit, the 36-year-old man threatened public safety by nearly causing an accident with a cyclist and committing multiple traffic violations.

Upon further investigation, police found a firearm and suspected narcotics in the suspect's apartment, further implicating him in drug-related criminality and weapon possession.
