Federal Armed Forces - Pistorius visits hunters in Leipzig
During a visit to the Leipzig General-Olbricht-Kaserne, Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) obtained information about the work of the stationed Feldjäger. During practical demonstrations, he gained insights into their tasks, as the ministry announced. The military policemen and women in Leipzig provide real-time situation reports to the Defense Ministry.
Feldjäger are also involved in national and international deployments. For example, they support the Ukrainian armed forces in their training in Germany and provide assistance to various authorities, such as the Saxony State Police. Nationwide, there are approximately 3000 Feldjäger in the Bundeswehr. The headquarters is located in Hannover, with 23 locations.
