Judgment - Penalties for Chaos Games in Third League

The Amtsgericht Bayreuth has sentenced two Dynamo Dresden fans involved in disturbances during a 3rd Football League match in October 2022 to probation sentences. Both admitted to the charges, according to the court. They were sentenced in two separate trials, among other things, for serious breach of peace in conjunction with grievous bodily harm to prison terms of two and a half years. In both cases, the sentences were suspended. However, the probation orders include stadium bans of two and four years. The judgments are not yet legally binding.

According to investigators, there were violent disturbances during the 3rd League match between SpVgg Bayreuth and Dynamo Dresden on October 1, 2022. Several guest fans were reportedly involved, throwing bottles, beer crates, and gully covers at police officers for minutes at a time, as well as assaulting and kicking them. Some of them allegedly robbed a food cart in the guest block, while others tore washbasins and toilet bowl covers from the walls.

The excess of violence and criminality during the soccer match between SpVgg Bayreuth and Dynamo Dresden in the Third league led to severe consequences for two fans. Despite being sentenced to probation in the District Court of Bavaria's Bayreuth branch, they will face stadium bans of two and four years respective. This incident, marked by chaos, prompted a call for stricter measures to curb such disturbances in future soccer games. Unfortunately, the probation sentences are not yet legally binding, and the criminal history of these fans may affect their participation in future Dynamo Dresden games in Saxony.
