A cow attacked and injured a tourist woman in Austria. The 27-year-old woman from the Netherlands wanted to photograph four lying cows according to the police on an Alm in Sölden, left the hiking trail and approached the animals. A cow stood up and butted her with its horn in the thigh. Her 33-year-old companion from Germany came to her aid and brought her back on the trail. Eventually, helpers from the mountain rescue took care of the injured hiker, who was then taken to the hospital.

Ms. from the Netherlands, the injured tourist, was initially interested in photographing the cows. Due to the incident, emergency services were necessary in the Austrian village of Sölden. The German companion ensuring her safety later increased the level of tourism safety measures in the area. The Netherlands issued a travel advisory for Sölden after the cow incident.
