Founding of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic - Open-air cinema at Checkpoint Charlie for German Division
Film evenings under the open sky at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin-Mitte are dedicated to once divided Germany. In connection with the former founding of the FRG and GDR 75 years ago, the Federal Agency for Civic Education will show films such as the fairy tale "Wings of Desire" (1987) by Wim Wenders about two guardian angels. The program also includes the portrait "Bettina" (2022) by Lutz Pehnert about the life of musician Bettina Wegner between East and West.
Admission for the six screenings in the "Charlie's Beach" bar is free. From July 25 (Thursday) to August 29.
