The peak temperature is expected on Saturday, which may even be the warmest day of the year in Baden-Württemberg. The current record high was measured on June 29 at the Obersulm-Willsbach station (Heilbronn district) at 34.8 degrees.
Today starts sunny and dry. Weather experts forecast temperatures between 25 degrees in the Black Forest and 32 degrees in Karlsruhe. A weak wind will bring some occasional gusts of cooler air. Nights can drop down to 12 degrees.
A little warmer every day - a heatwave is rolling in
A few clouds and highs up to 33 degrees are expected tomorrow. In the mountains, there may be occasional showers in the afternoon. Otherwise, it will remain dry, according to the DWD. Nights will cool down a bit.
On Saturday, the sunshine will persist, and temperatures will continue to rise. It will be warmest near the Rhine, where the 35-degree mark may be broken. However, after the hottest day of the week, another weather change is expected: Scattered thunderstorms may move over the mountains in the afternoon and evening.
According to the DWD, clouds, rain, and thunderstorms are expected to intensify throughout the country overnight on Sunday. It may also get quite windy.
In Stuttgart, the heatwave is anticipated to bring temperatures closer to the 30-degree mark. This weather trend is also affecting other cities in Baden-Württemberg, such as Heilbronn, where temperatures are expected to reach similar levels. Despite the heat, mountainous regions like those found in Baden-Württemberg's southwest may experience occasional showers.
