Chancellor-Dialog - Olaf Scholz discusses with Saarlanders

Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is coming to Saarbrucken on a Wednesday for a discussion with citizens. In his series "Chancellor-Talk", which has taken him to 13 federal states so far, 150 Saarlanders have the opportunity to ask him questions for 90 minutes. "The Federal Chancellor wants to learn what moves the people in their daily lives, about their concerns and expectations of politics, and answer their questions", it says on the German government's website. "It's about mutual listening, respect, and openness."

The selection of participants, who must be at least 16 years old, was made in cooperation with media partners Saarbrücker Zeitung and Radio Saarland. The questions of the invited guests are not known to the Chancellor and the moderation, according to the Federal Press Office. "The citizens decide themselves which question they want to ask the Federal Chancellor", it says.

A total of eleven Chancellor-Talks took place in the years 2022 and 2023. In 2024, Olaf Scholz was already a guest in Dresden and at the end of March in Brandenburg an der Havel.
