2. Bundesliga - Nuernberg's Gyamerah changes to Kaiserslautern
Outside defender Jan Gyamerah is switching from 1. FC Nürnberg to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2. Bundesliga. And this "with immediate effect," as the "club" announced just a few hours before the test game against Juventus Turin. The 29-year-old Gyamerah has been playing for the Nürnbergers in the 2. Liga since summer 2022.
In his youth, the right defender played for VfL Bochum. He made his professional debut there as well. After a station at Hamburger SV, he came to Franconia. For FCN, Gyamerah played 59 second-league games, in which he scored three goals and gave three assists.
In the FCN press release on the transfer, there was no comment from a responsible person. However, the Lauterers spoke. "We were able to sign a proven second-league player in Jan, who is also willing to take responsibility on and off the pitch," explained business manager Thomas Hengen.
The FCK made no statements on the transfer fee and contract length. "So far, I have only played for traditional clubs, which was a decisive factor for my decision to join FCK," Gyamerah stated in his new club's press release.
