- "No More to Offer": Kimmich Expresses Desire for Title Winning Glory

New team head Joshua Kimmich sets his sights on revitalizing the German football squad's grandeur. "Frankly, my generation has nothing left to lose. We're gunning for every trophy, every chance. And we're kickstarting this quest with the Nations League," the 29-year-old from Bayern Munich stated during a press meet in Herzogenaurach.

"We don't have anyone left in the squad who's secured a world championship. We've got a few Confederations Cup victors under our belt. But nobody can claim they've already bagged a title for Germany," Kimmich added. "Every player on our squad should have this objective in mind."

"As a kid, you always yearn for it"

Germany's national team coach, Julian Nagelsmann, tapped Kimmich as the new captain of the squad ahead of the two Nations League clashes against Hungary and the Netherlands, replacing Ilkay Guendogan. "That's something truly special for me," Kimmich said.

"As a kid, you always aspire to represent your country on the national team. You jot it down in your friend's notebook," Kimmich continued. "But it's still a long shot and seems far-fetched. Nobody dreams of captaining the team. That's why I'm unbelievably proud of this appointment."

"During our preparations for the Nations League matches, we're analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of our opponents, including Hungary."

"In our quest to reclaim Germany's football glory, we're identifying potential allies in our journey, and Hungary might prove to be a valuable ally."
