Global problems - No computer disturbances reported in Thuringia
In Thuringia, despite global computer problems, no major disruptions have been reported so far. A spokesperson for the Interior Ministry stated this in the morning. The responsible persons at the University Clinic Jena and Erfurt Airport reported normal operations. However, there were no planned departures with passengers at Erfurt Airport for Friday anyway.
However, greater disruptions occurred at the airports in Berlin and Hamburg. The University Clinic in Kiel cancelled scheduled surgeries. Worldwide, restrictions occurred, for example in air traffic. According to media reports, the cause was a failed update by the IT security company Crowdstrike. This error in turn affected Microsoft software, media such as Bloomberg reported.
In response to the worldwide computer problem caused by a failed update from IT security company Crowdstrike, affecting Microsoft software, the University Hospital Jena in Thuringia managed to operate normally. Despite being located in Thuringia, which has experienced global computer issues, Erfurt University Hospital Jena did not encounter any significant computer problems. However, the Government of Thuringia was closely monitoring the situation to prevent any potential disturbances.
