Football-Bundesliga - New speculations about Bayern's Davies: 2025 to Real
The future of Bayern-Professional Alphonso Davies may once again lie with Real Madrid - but only after a transfer free of charge in a year. At least, according to the Spanish daily newspaper "AS" in an article titled "Davies 2025," the transfer of the Canadian soccer national team player from FC Bayern Munich to the Champions League winner has been decided for the upcoming season.
This scenario is plausible, as the German record champion has yet to agree on a contract extension with the 23-year-old outside back, whose contract expires in a year. Reportedly, the Davies party is demanding too high a salary. The negotiations seem to be difficult.
Currently, Davies is on vacation after participating in the Copa America, where he finished fourth with Canada's national team. He is expected to join the Bayern training again only after the Munich team's South Korea trip (July 31 to August 5).
Highlight goal against Real at the Bernabeu
Bayern's sporting director Christoph Freund recently reported on talks with Davies, "which have not yet led to a result." Freund described the fast-wing player as a "key player." The door, so the sporting director, "is not closed."
Davies has played for Bayern since 2019. He has made rapid progress, winning the Champions League with Munich in 2020. Top performances could not be consistently achieved in the previous season. A highlight was the goal by Davies in the unfortunate Bayern elimination in the top tier against Real. In the Bernabeu Stadium of Madrid, he scored the Munich 1:0 in the return leg.
"He is now going, as it looks, into his last contract year," Freund said. We'll see how further talks go. The Bayern seem to be calculating a transfer free of charge to Real in 2025. The record champion has already signed Japanese defender Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart for more than 20 million euros this summer, who can play left back like Davies.
