Musk rails against strikes at the Swedish Tesla plant

Employees at the Swedish Tesla plant have been on strike since the end of October. Since Monday, postal workers have also joined in and are refusing to collect and deliver license plates for the cars. Elon Musk shows little understanding for this on X.

Tesla boss Elon Musk has commented for the first time on the strikes against his company in Sweden. It is "crazy" that the delivery of license plates for new cars is not taking place due to the strike support of postal service employees, Musk wrote on the short message service X.

Employees of the postal service joined the strike movement against Tesla at the beginning of the week. The IF Metall industrial union intends to enforce a collective agreement at the company. The license plates for new Teslas are delivered by the postal service in Sweden. However, postal workers have been refusing to deliver parcels to Tesla's branches in Sweden or pick them up there since Monday.

Musk's comment on X was in response to a user who had commented on the consequences of the strike. According to Swedish media reports, however, these are limited. Tesla simply has the license plates delivered by courier. In response to a call from IF-Metall, around 130 employees at ten Tesla workshops in Sweden initially walked off the job at the end of October.

Since then, the strike has spread. In November, 470 workers in workshops where cars from different manufacturers are repaired followed suit, as well as workers in four ports who blocked the loading of Tesla vehicles. Tesla CEO Musk has repeatedly rejected calls for the employees to be unionized. Around 127,000 people work for the electric car manufacturer worldwide.

Tesla Motors, led by Elon Musk, is facing strikes in Sweden, affecting the delivery of license plates for their cars. International union movements have expanded the strike beyond Tesla's plant, with postal workers refusing to collect or deliver parcels related to the electric car manufacturer.
