office transfer - Müller assuming management in Co-operative Association for Stripper
Long-time CSU politician and former State Secretary Stefan Müller has taken over the top position at the Genossenschaftsverband Bayern (GVB): The previous association president Gregor Scheller handed over the duties at a ceremony in Munich on a Wednesday to the 48-year-old. "Stefan is a true striper," Markus Söder, Minister-President, paid tribute to his party friend as the keynote speaker. "You've made a good catch." Müller pledged at the outset to prioritize the interests of members at the helm of one of the most important economic associations in Bavaria: "The association is there for the members and not the other way around."
One of the most important Economic Associations in Bavaria
The Genossenschaftsverband represents the Bavarian Volks- and Raiffeisenbanks as well as several hundred other companies from 30 industries. "The GVB is system-relevant and plays a central role," said Söder. Müller, who is not unfamiliar with economics, is a banking expert by profession. In the course of his political career, Müller, like Söder, has been the Chief of the Young Union, the Parliamentary Business Manager of the CSU-Landesgruppe in the Bundestag, and a State Secretary in the Federal Research Ministry.
Mandate in the Bundestag, which Müller had already relinquished in the spring to avoid potential conflicts of interest before joining the GVB, were bid farewell to Scheller with laudatory resolutions, including from Marija Kolak, President of the Federal Association of Volks- and Raiffeisenbanks.
Close ties between CSU and Bavarian Economic Associations
The CSU's ties to the Bavarian economic associations remain close. Sparkassen President Matthias Dießl was formerly the Landrat of Fürth, a CSU member and local politician is also Farm President Günther Felßner. Bertram Brossardt, Managing Director of the Association of the Bavarian Economy, was in his youth an office assistant in the Bavarian Economic Ministry for the then Minister Wiesheu.
