Lower Franconia - Motorcycle rider flees from police control

A motorcycle rider in Unterfranken fled with up to 200 kilometers per hour from the police. Since he repeatedly came onto the opposing traffic lane, several accidents were prevented by full braking of other vehicles, as the police reported.

Previously, the 21-year-old motorcycle rider had been measured with excessive speed during a traffic control in Mellrichstadt (Landkreis Rhön-Grabfeld). After that, he approached the measuring policemen with only ten centimeters distance. The police eventually ended the pursuit for safety reasons. Shortly thereafter, the officers were able to identify the fleeing person. It turned out that the 21-year-old did not have a driver's license for his vehicle.

The motorcycle rider's high-speed escape occurred in the region of Lower Franconia, just borders away from his initial encounter with the police in Upper Franconia, both being part of Bavaria. Despite evading the police on a motorcycle, his reckless driving could have resulted in more traffic accidents due to his lane changes. Subsequently, in another part of Bavaria, the police identified the unlicensed vehicle rider.
